Went out scouting yesterday and seen various deer herds on the prairie. One herd in particular was located right behind Rolling Plains Adventures Grand Lodge. The herd size was about 200 and had plenty of mature bucks within it. There is no sign of antler loss yet, but they should lose them any day.
As the deer started moving around, I noticed a few of the big bucks I had been watching all fall. They made it through another season! Those bucks were very impressive to see again. Their antlers spread way past their ears and are very tall. I am in high hopes of finding the sheds soon.
All the deer look very well conditioned and healthy. There is plenty of food around, so they should remain strong. I will check back in a couple of weeks and hopefully find some sheds.
